J A Y M O R RMemberI wouldn’t be ditching PW’s because the max sync speed on a D4 or 1DX is going to be 1/250th.
Hypersync is where its at. It is at another level when applied in wildlife photography. I thought you would be all for that JB?? 😉
Example: http://quickblink.photoshelter.com/package-show/Hummingbirds/P00000EJPIILxIeY
Another example: Shooting at high noon at 2.8 with creamy DoF. Or over powering the sun with speeds at 1/8000th 😉 I strobe at high noon so for me it is a big deal.
I will be keeping my MINI’s & TT5’s in the bag …check please.
J A Y M O R RMemberThis thread makes me chuckle.
J A Y M O R RMemberI purchased this case from Walmart this week. They had it listed for $70ish
I actually love it. I also have used it in the shower, did the dunk test as recommended to check O-Ring seals and all checked out ok.
The speaker quality that Jason Zimmer mentions is spot on. Life Proof actually markets this case saying that the speaker quality is better for bass and mids when playing music because of the enclosure. I don’t really care about this because I only use the speakers for speaker phone calls. I typically use my “Dre Beats” wireless bluetooth headphones when I am listening to music.
This is by far the best impact, waterproof, dustproof case I have found. The slim profile is great and it is super light. I am looking forward to using this on the river with me this year.
Thanks for the prior reviews. I went in to the store knowing what I was buying and with certain expectations that have definitely been met and are all positive.
Good stuff. I will report back on the case a little later in the year when I have properly used it and put it through it’s paces on the water.
PS.
J A Y M O R RMemberHoly smokes the canon equivalent is like 5k lol. No wonnnnder!
My wifes cookies are over the top fantastic! You should see her oven! 🙂
J A Y M O R RMemberI freehand a 300mm 2.8VR and occasionally use a 1.7TC extender.
I can’t tell you how many photo opps I have passed on when photographing birds because of poor lighting conditions.
J A Y M O R RMemberLove them.
Stats on the settings?
Thanks guys.
I will always try and shoot at the fastest speeds I can when light permits. Most of these were shot at 1/1000th or 1/1600th between 5.6 and f/8. The last few days I have been able to pull off ISO 100. It was nice, considering that most of shots come early morning or later in the evening that require my aperture to be wide open at 2.8 and often I am bumping my ISO up to 400-600.
I hope that helps.
J A Y M O R RMemberPretty cool to see.
J A Y M O R RMemberChad,
I was also curios about this case.
J A Y M O R RMemberThanks John.
J A Y M O R RMemberTough decision John. I would say it really depends on your workflow and the ability to use the new feature set in LR4+
Personally, I feel the upgrade is definitely worth it. Some things I like in LR4 would be the new sliders in the “Basic Control Panel”. I can be more selective in my photo effects.
I have not played with the video stuff much. I do love the softproofing feature which has been warranted for a long time. The Print area has been updated and while it is not a need, I do love the flexability of the new print options in LR4
I have noticed a big difference in shadow and contrast control in my images. They simply look better and cleaner in my final export.
If you geo-tag your images, you will probably dig the workflow of this in LR4.
All-in-All the image rendering, soft proofing capability for me prior to print or final export to web and the new slider bars is worth the upgrade. I have used the book print feature only a few times but it is handy.
Oh 1 more thing that is much much better is the “Sharpening” in the LR4.
J A Y M O R RMemberMatt,
It largely depends on the file format the respective client or editor is requesting.
J A Y M O R RMemberOne of these days maybe Nikon will release a true pro build body in the smallest possible SLR size; that would be a great camera.
Zach
They did.
J A Y M O R RMemberLet me know how that HD holds up when a natural disaster hits.
J A Y M O R RMemberI think DVDs or CDs can be fine. Burn them to disc and put a copy or two in a safety deposit box when it comes to photographing personal belongings for insurance claims, etc.
J A Y M O R RMemberWay to go Kelly!
J A Y M O R RMemberLove it.
J A Y M O R RMember“Old School!” Nice man.
J A Y M O R RMemberThanks Tim.
J A Y M O R RMemberThank you John.
J A Y M O R RMemberLightroom 4 or Photoshop CS6 for serious editing.
There are many free web services that offer photo tools if either of the above options are not something you will be using often.
