Chad SimcoxMemberI have the case on my iphone5, but haven’t tested it. I got the case more of as a precaution rather than a water housing.

MemberI saw my brother in law shoot some underwater pics this past summer and it was pretty impressive, good clarity and no leakage.

J A Y M O R RMemberI purchased this case from Walmart this week. They had it listed for $70ish
I actually love it. I also have used it in the shower, did the dunk test as recommended to check O-Ring seals and all checked out ok.
The speaker quality that Jason Zimmer mentions is spot on. Life Proof actually markets this case saying that the speaker quality is better for bass and mids when playing music because of the enclosure. I don’t really care about this because I only use the speakers for speaker phone calls. I typically use my “Dre Beats” wireless bluetooth headphones when I am listening to music.
This is by far the best impact, waterproof, dustproof case I have found. The slim profile is great and it is super light. I am looking forward to using this on the river with me this year.
Thanks for the prior reviews. I went in to the store knowing what I was buying and with certain expectations that have definitely been met and are all positive.
Good stuff. I will report back on the case a little later in the year when I have properly used it and put it through it’s paces on the water.
PS.

Michael PhillippeMemberI’ve had one for about a year but never actually dunked it completely. Took a ggod fall last season but my phone was in the inside zippered pocket of my Simms waders. There was some moisture in the pocket but the case keep the phone dry. That was exactly the situation for which I bought th case.
Interesting comment, Jason, about not removing the iPhone from the case more than 5 times. My routine is to put the phone in the case when I am fishing or hunting and remove it when I get home. The Lifeproof is a bit bulky and I much prefer my Derek DeYoung case for everyday use. I’l try the Kleenex test and see if the gasket is still good.

Michael PhillippeMemberI wrote Lifeproof about the issue of opening the case more than six times. Here is the response I got:
“Not true at all, the edges to begin to wear if your case has been opened many times but we can offer a replacement for that we ask that you repeate the water test at least twice a month to make sure it is working correctly. Please let me know if any other assistance is needed.”
