MemberPretty impressive that a size 12 wading boot can introduce something to the Great Lakes. No international ships go through there? 😉
Just an honest question here, what species are native to the Lakes?
Steelhead=no
salmon=no
carp=no
walleye ?
smallies ?JH

MemberGuys,
Things aren’t going that well for me with this swap either. Got the materails and hooks ready to go last week and started tying a Soft-hackled Hare’s Ear for the swap and had four of them tied and ready with six to go. Then it happened, Mon. A.M. I cut off part of my middle finger at work. Needless to say, my tying is done for awhile, you really don’t realize how much you use your “social finger” on your left hand when tying until something like this happens!
I will still submit my flies, maybe a day or two late, Thanks to a good friend of mine who will finish them for me.JH

MemberGuys,
Having being involved in a few swaps elsewhere, a box that you get with a purchase earings is a better shipping package than a flybox. A flybox is a lot of $$$$ to ship. I have shipped 15 weighted wolly buggers for less than $2 this way. I usually buy enough, and a little extra, postage for the return package and put it in the box with the flies with my return address. The toe tags are a great idea, really helps with “ID”ing the flies.

PS… I think we should tie 10 flies and send a set to Zach for creating/hosting this AWESOME site!!!!

MemberHey Pa guys,
Phil smeal!!! It’s going to in the 40’s next week no matter what the damn tractor tire busting rodent says. I might have to get sick one day and try fishing my way to better health! ;D

MemberJake,
Jim has given you some sound advice! Living in Pa, I will tell you that the fishing here in that time frame is pretty dang good. I have also fished the GSMNP and it was awesome!!! I don’t think you can go wrong at either place. If you decide on Good “Ole” Pa, sent me a PM and I’ll give you some local advice not meant for the internet. 😉

MemberJeff,
I have two Avids and have bought several more for some friends. I currently have a 3wt(7′) and a 5wt (8’6″), will be buying another one shortly.

MemberI have travelled to YNP several times and have seen the wolves. I have to try to catch  the Nature show, have seen several good shows on the Discovery Channel too. Here’s a pic of a wolf track I took the last time I visited the Lamar River Valley:

MemberAhhh, Finally a little feedback on the trip this year!!! How long were you guys going to keep me in the dark? Two years ago, when you and Auggie had to leave, Doug and I had a similar day on the Butte. It was too cold and wet for those guys and we stayed and fished drakes and had a BLAST!!! Anyway, Glad you guys had a good trip, not a GREAT one because I wasn’t there right
