MemberI agree that most folks don’t fully appreciate the scale of wild lands in the southeastern Appalachians.

MemberThat article about the black cat on the Chattooga sparked a lot of heated discussion on another fishing forum I frequent.

MemberHoly smokes that’s my river. Great shot of the Toot. While rare in the creek itself, brookies are fairly common in a couple of the tribs. There is a drive up approach to section below the washout as well. It is indeed an extremely remarkable fishery for GA. For a combo of beauty/ruggedness/quality wild trout in GA, only the upper Chattooga near the NC border makes me happier. Thanks for the great shot.

MemberDid you believe the sailfish story?
I may be a bit credulous, but I did believe the story.

MemberI like this question.
I have had some success with:
1) black basses (LM, redeye, spots)–started really working at it this year and it is great
2) bream–a LOT when the beds are active
3) white bass–can be great, but I’ve missed the peak last 2 yrs
4) limited salt–few flounder/reds, 1 snookI have tried without success:
1) carp–this will take some work, an important goal of mine
2) stripers–first try this year, brief hookup, none to hand, I feel very good about next seasonI dream of trying:
1) shoal bass–right in my back yard, just haven’t done it yet
2) pike–so big, so mean
3) peacocks–S.FL first, then S.AmericaG
