Zach, I use it to refill the overpriced “dry shake” containers I used to buy at fly shops. It’s the exact same stuff.  An ordinary 35mm film canister will work too (You remember those, right?  ;)). Throw in a few of desiccant packet beads that come with electronics nowadays and you’re good to go. Refills for life @ $5. Perfect!

You can find the link right beneath the fly fisherman testimonials and the microscope image of the stuff. Look for “order now via online storefront, section 5-thickeners/fillers”.

I don’t know about no holder, but I’ll never have to buy the powder again after buying a quart from this outfit for about $6. Lifetime supply.  Hydrophobic fumed silica epoxy

Great shots Cor! All of ’em.

Doood, it always hunts. What’s that, something like 14 and 1 by now? I’m going to try it on steelhead… 😀

That caddis shot if perfect mag cover material w/ original subject, clean room for header up top, and copy down either side. You da man!

Found the shots on you blog. Excellent update, thanks for sharing. That river you fished w/Cor is on top of my list before the snow flies.

BTW-The mountains in the “GTs on the horizon” shot is actually the Wind River Range. One can easily spot Gannett Peak, which is the highest spot in Wyoming, just right of center with its summit in the clouds. Spent lots of time up there as a young lad. Beautiful area.

I’m jonesin’ for some southwest Wyoming scenics and can’t

Great stuff David as usual! I love the Cheesesteak merry-go-round photo. I really enjoy late evening digital and the blue hues of summer night skies.

    Excellent!

Oops, I meant Mike great stuff as usual. Still do. Very cool! 🙂

Dave, look us up when you have your schedule sketched in. Can’t hit the Green but Cor and I have some nice little non-Provo options that you should explore. And yes, Sept=great time for hoppers! Good water year too.

Wait a minute Zach, you kinda promised us a new shot of YOU for your profile. With all these great looking folks and photogs, there must be somethin’ useful. Come on dude, give us the goods. Lauren, Jake, Christian….

    🙂

Kurt has a great point. Any more than 50,000 clicks and I would pass, refurbished or not. You can have them send a jpg shot from said camera via e-mail and plug it into an application like opanda to find out the number of shots fired.

As for me, I’ll give six prime reasons why I shoot Nikon. They’re manual focus, never go out of style and always fit…

Good stuff Zach! Looks like a great time out west.

Have you checked out strobist.com? ::)

A fine tooth comb!? Must have been a slow day. What were they checking besides permits?

Looks like a great time and thanks for sharing. I love that area. Which section of the Henry’s did you float? Are you guys packin’ heat in that second-to-last shot or is that the river swat/assault team?

    Good stuff!

…I just spent 2 long days shooting kids in the supermarket and a kitchen with various dairy products and I think I’m loosing my will to live..
My advice now to the new guys is going to be – learn to shoot everything and anything, be a jack of all trades with a camera, but most importantly, avoid kids and animals.. ;);D

I can relate. Photographed loads of kids for commercial gigs. It’s like herding cats.

    Excellent! She’ll love it,

Did you get a D90 or D300 for yourself?

in reply to: Cool gig – NFR #68292

    Parting shot.

Okay, this one really makes me queasy. Anyone else?

in reply to: Cool gig – NFR #68289

Dayyyum.  Nice Doug – sunset shot is fantastic, as is the lightning shot.  Ever since I saw a “Dirty Jobs” when they did wind turbines, I’d never consider going up on one of those.

    Thanks again guys!

They’re actually not bad inside at the top (besides the 300ft ladder climb) as there’s no windows. Only when you poke your head out the top hatch do you realize what you’re standing on. That’s when the adrenaline and blood starts to pump…big time!

    Can’t wait to go back!

Thanks Zach! The client liked the irony too. LOL.

If you would have told me a week ago I’d be sitting, then standing, on top of one of those things for work I would’a said you’re crazy…
