From what I have been reading on the web, I would expect some serious regulations regarding the use of drones to be coming down from Washington and the FAA.
To add to the country tunes, since I am old and can’t get into most of the new country artist, but one that I do like is Jamey Johnson, but I guess that is because he has more of an old country sound.
I also favor George Strait and Alan Jackson.

From what I read elsewhere, this seems to be a long time issue that Nikon is just now addressing. But, I guess better late than never, and they do seem to be taking care of it completely.
Thanks Tim. In the past, I always used SA lines, and they will most likely be my first choice now that I need to buy a new one.
Thanks Tim, I will look further at the lines you suggested. A quick look already did find some comments about the line cracking at the loop. Anything to that?
Ian, I said I hadn’t fly fished in awhile, but it hasn’t been so long that I would want to try a level line. 🙂

I have considered switching from Canon, but while I have never thought it through as thoroughly as the writer, I always came back to “to what?”. So I stayed.
He was dead on regarding Canon.
Thanks Zach and David. I already have the 7 weight and don’t anticipate buying anything else, particularly at this time. As I said, I used to fly fish quite a bit, but not concentrate on my photography, and until I see what I might do with both, I won’t be spending any money for a new rod.
I also have a 3/4 weight which I have used for smallmouth up to about 18″, but it can be a little small at times. I may buy a line for both rods. Can I assume your recommendations still apply for the 3/4 weight?
David, as I said in my OP, I would only occasionally be fishing for trout, so while I understand it is a little large for most trout fishing, it will have to do for the time being. I have used it for trout in the past but it was on larger, western streams.

I think the model will stick. It’s becoming more of an industry trend, makes it harder to pirate the IP, and allows for more rapid development cycles.
Not to mention a constant source of revenue.
I dislike being able to decide when the added features are worth the upgrade, but instead having it forced on me.
But that is the industry trend. I use CAD software at work, and they do everything they can to force the upgrades on the business. Which in my case, is a relatively small business, that can’t really afford, or need every upgrade.
If it does, I will be using what Adobe products I have for as long as I can, then I will be looking towards something else for my processing.
QC is still an issue with Sigma. I went through three copies getting a good one. One I couldn’t get good sharpness, two wouldn’t focus at all (completely dead on arrival), and three was just right.
That says all I need to know. I will wait until I can afford the Canon.
No question that they have, but I still want to wait a little longer before wading in again. “Once bitten, twice shy”.
But the 150-500 has always appealed to me, as it does to many wildlife shooter who can’t afford one of Canon’s super-telephotos.
Again, please keep us posted. I’m not ready to buy anything today, so I can wait a little longer to see how satisfied with your 120-300mm, especially after using the 2x.
Please keep us posted. I have used Sigma lenses in the past, but after the coating on one peeled off in places, I am sticking with Canon until I am convinced that Sigma’s quality has improved.
I have considered buying a used Canon 300mm f/2.8…maybe I will wait a little longer.
Another option to prevent being unable to read older RAW files is to convert them to DNG. DNG is an open source RAW format created by Adobe, so all version of Adobe software, are able to read them. I have done that in the past until ACR catches up. I believe that the converter is built into Lightroom.
Lightroom can also make the conversion as the files are being imported. Many recommend do that, and not even using the camera format. It would prevent the problems you are currently having.
