MemberHey guys,
Zach, sorry that this is a more specific post, but I thought it was worthy of the topic.
Last year at the Fly Fishing Film Tour, we saw the trailer for Eastern Rises. I have been unable to find any information about a release date, and the film looks great. Has anyone heard anything?

Dave

MemberZach,
I grabbed a Battenkill Large Arbor for about 120, by buying it before its drag was replaced.

MemberAbe,
The only thing that I can really add to the conversation is that while the line situation with the Sage SMB may be an issue, the rod itself has a heck of a backbone for throwing big bugs. I’ve thrown big clousers and poppers with it, and have had no problem launching them a long distance while maintaining control. As for the line, I fished the rod last when it was still pretty cold out, and I found that the line seemed to have a lot of memory, even after fishing it for an hour. Perhaps this was because of the temperature, but it did not seem to be as memory free as some of my Rio lines. That being said, not having cast the rod with any other line, I am not sure if the rod would perform as well with a stock line.
I am typically a Scott fan, but I think Sage did something pretty special with the SMB.

Dave

MemberTim,
Would you mind posting the pic of that fly?
And to add to the Michigan lovefest, I am in Lansing right now, but I move to the Cascade area next month. Anyone ever fished muskies in or around the GR area? I’ve heard that they are in the Thornapple, and the new house is right across the street from the river. Not like there isn’t enough water to fish in the area, but I am always up for some toothy critters.
You guys ever fish Prairie? I fish there quite often, so let me know if you ever want to meet up and hit it.
One more thing in this random laundry list, if you guys ever get tired of rowing the boat yourselves or just want to have some fun with some chrome, Kevin Feenstra is a friend of mine and great guide on the Muskegon.
Best,
Dave

From an Iraq vet, thanks for doing this for these guys.

MemberLooks like there are a few competent pike fisherman that have already commented on this thread. Here is a question for you guys: What do you use for bite tippet? I have used about ten inches of power pro previously with mixed results. I have seen Rio’s new tippet product, but haven’t hit the water to try it yet. Any suggestions of the best rig?
Thanks, and nice fish!
Best,
Dave
