Poor Mae.  She’s always looked like she’s strung out.  Her eyelids droop.  Great dog though.

Pretty dog regardless of her habit. Heroin chic. ;D

Nice shots Henry .. I dig them. I noticed you added some grain, which helps the feel IMO. I think much of the feel of a b/w shot comes from the grain, in addition to the tones. Good stuff!

    Nice job Brett!

in reply to: Posting pics affect publishability? #70314

I would prob say no. Sort of a chicken and egg thing IMO. If you don’t put it out there, no one will see it. I post all of my stuff to my online galleries and to forums here and there… I have had a few shots published in the last year and all of them were posted online. Plus, at the same time I have the philosophy that its simply enjoyable to share photos, see what people like, talk about them, etc.

    Love that last shot John!

portable hd technology.  everyone wanting to be “famous.”  the internet.  i think that pretty much covers it.

Short and simple .. and prob pretty accurate on many counts

    That is very cool Stu!

in reply to: Pumps for Inflatable Watercraft #41677

The electric car battery pump is well worth the $$$ IMO. I have the one Scadden sells … I do use the had pump for topoff. I have also seen pvc hand pumps that are a little more space economical as an emergency pump for taking on the boat.

in reply to: SW Utah? #42736

I would chime in .. but I always end up going north when I am taking a fishing trip! . Seriously though, I have not had much opportunity to fish down south .. The Fremont is on my list, but i have never quite made it. South for me usually means desert experience and not fishing.

I’m going to take the 5th on Utah beer.  There is a reason I take tequila on my trips. ;D

Kurt .. Thanks for pointing out the magenta cast. For some reason I didnt notice it.

Ok .. I figured if anyone would know a bit about the topic it would be Kelly Galloup. I thought I’d share his reply …

“I get one a week with a tail hanging out it’s face. I don’t think they are stuck, they may come back up alittle during the fight but i think mostly they just have not swallowed them yet. I have seen them in fish that are just sitting near shore so I think it is just a slow process.”

in reply to: Its a fish eat fish world #70288

I dunno the way that fish was jammed in there … I doubt it could have eaten much else. It does make me wonder how common it is for this to happen and/or if its part of their natural feeding process, to go after prey that wont quite fit down their throat.

in reply to: Its a fish eat fish world #70284

Did you at least put it back in the fish’s mouth before letting him swim off?

Lol .. No .. looked like it had been there a long time and he was obviously quite hungry!

in reply to: Explosion of Fly Fishing Films #41811

Ha! Thanks Chris … I’d love to be able to take you up on that!

I think one of the main reasons , that many of the other posters touched on, is that you can do it now. Much like the some of the saturation of photography discussions we have had on this board. It is financially accessible to almost anyone who has the desire to do it. With a fairly small budget, some buddies, and a bit of DIY skill you can do a ton with very little cash.

Another reason driving this, also touched on, is technology itself. You can make a video, put it out there, and have almost anyone see it. In my opinion, not only is this important for just some guy who wants to have fun making a fly fishing video… It will become more and more important for outfitters, magazines, and businesses who want to give something more than their competitors.

Thats a seriously nice report Doug! Looks like a very kickass time!  😎 I had wondered how well those DiCAPac bags worked with the LX3 .. Did you happen to try any 1/2 n 1/2 pics with it?

in reply to: Cor + Drake = cover #70214

    Thanks dudes!

Doug, thanks for wearin’ that hat it must be lucky, or somethin’.

Tim, those hands look better than a Palmolive model! 😉

Cant describe how cool it is for me to have a Drake cover shot!

–> a bigger version here <-- Here is the shot Tim is referring to. From the hike we did with Eric last summer.
