I’ll be setting up camp in St George in late April for 3-4 days.

Steven I have only fished in Southern Utah once and I fished a creek called Mamouth Creek. It may be a little further North than you are looking for but it was a fun little creek to fish. I also fished the Fremont (sp?) River near Capitol Reef which is a little more central Utah and did very well there and had the whole river to myself.

I know there are some Utah boys on the board and am surprised they have not chimed in on this. They probably saw that you were bringing the bike and knew you would be consumed with all the awesome riding down there!

Little piece of advice for you. BRING YOUR OWN BEER!!! There beer is watery in Utah and sometimes VERY hard to find. No offense to the Utah boys on the board but you are light years away from Montana Micro brews. 😎

I would chime in .. but I always end up going north when I am taking a fishing trip! . Seriously though, I have not had much opportunity to fish down south .. The Fremont is on my list, but i have never quite made it. South for me usually means desert experience and not fishing.

I’m going to take the 5th on Utah beer.  There is a reason I take tequila on my trips. ;D

Sorry, I didn’t see this… a bit busy fighting a legislative water war right now. I know a little something about Southern Utah. Feel free to shoot me an email.

Joel is right, Utah is BYOB : )

Man, I’ve been too caught up @ work trying to close up loose ends… haven’t been around here.

Thank you all for tips.  I’m well aware of the beer situation.  Having inlaws in Park City allows me the opportunity to visit at least once or twice a year.  Generally, we send Uncle John off to Wyoming with a large vehicle the week prior.

I don’t know of much creek or river fishing but there are some decent lakes in the area. To the north there are Baker and Pine Valley reservoirs and to the east is Kolob Reservoir. Baker holds some enormous browns if you can keep the sunfish and stockers off 🙂 Kolob is artificial flies and lures only
