The video feature on the stock d90 set up is supposed to be pretty useless.  There are no auto focusing features in the video mode and manually pulling the focus will be a pain in the ass if not impossible with that set up.

That rubber seal is pretty chewed on mine now too but it can still be dunked.

You definitely don’t want to submerge the zipper for an extended amount of time like that but it’ll hold water out fine during a quick dunk.

For what its worth, I still have a 2 notebook PCs, one 2.5 years old and one over 4 years old, that are still going strong.  The only reason I have purchased new systems is because upgrades on notebooks are limited to memory only and I like to have the latest and greatest so that I may comfortably run the latest and greatest.    

I really did look into the Macbook pro, and I really was disheartened by the price.  Apple certainly does not cater to that ‘carefree lifestyle’ and image that they are trying to sell with their marketing.  :'(  

EDIT:  And, if you really are anti-Microsoft, you can very easily run a Linux OS on any PC.  Everything that you are running on Windows can very easily be run through emulation  if it is not available for Linux.  It may require you to have some technical know-how, however.

Mark, I think that’s a fair deal and a good camera.  I don’t think you’ll get much use out of the 55-200 for fishing photography though.
