Nice….the underwater shots are very cool…I can’t quite figure out how it was done…I saw a website on extreme fly fishing off S. Africa, where they are catching 125-150 lb yellowfins (Allison) tuna on fly rods…I can’t figure that out either….Gene

Thats more brown trout in weight and #s that one catches in 30 years in NJ….it is snowing and shitty here which makes looking at those pix even worse….NICE JOB. 😮
Zach….you got some great advice from all…just to add re. dog. try to pick up Ben O’Williams’, INSTINCTIVE DOG TRAINING….in a nutshell, he says 90% of what is in your dog is, in your dog, (if you catch my drift)….he proffers that you do what you are suggesting, get out in the woods, run your dog and bring out what his nature is….(read the book)
ps. $1200 is a lot to spend on a gun that your going to bang around (no pun intended) the woods….my $.02…GeneThose are some fantastic pictures….the bright trout, the view from the bridge, the hawk, all of them are wonderful…..makes me happy
Zach…..I saw your posting re tuna fly gear…..we used Loomis 12-17 wt rods—-, Pate, Abel, Fin Nor, STH reels—-many different line set ups, up to 800gr sinking shooting heads, Teeny lines, all with lots of running line(usually 30lb mono)—-and any fly , as long it was a big white deceiver!!!
all fishing was done at anchor, as one would do chunking tuna with stand up gear….GeneZACH, I will change my name….I am used to other forums…..I am in North New Jersey….I ran a charter boat ON A FLY out of Manasquan Inlet for about 10 years…got out of the business in 1995…I specialized in off shore fly fishing for tuna….we were lucky and had 3 world records (20lb class)–the 47 lb Longfin Albacore still stands I think! Now, the only thing the wind affects is my golf ball, it is nice not to get my brains beat.
