MemberReally, the annual nonresident license price is pretty stiff, but if you’re just passing through, the one-day nonresident license including trout isn’t too bad at $16.00, nor is the 3-day nonresident license at $33.50.

MemberI have been stand up fishing out of a 14’7″ Old Town Guide canoe all summer and I am really liking it.
You must have balance like the Karate Kid.

MemberI’m saying the slip knot doesn’t cinch down as tightly on a balloon indicator as it will on a small hook eye.
brian dunigan
MemberI think you may find that the loop-to-loop through the eye of the hopper cinches down tight enough to kink and weaken a fine tippet.

MemberWHile it isn’t the most costly part of your rig, if you use gel spun backing, you may have wondered why the line is so expensive.
The reality is that is shouldn’t be.Yeah? Compare the cost of a small pair of fingernail clippers at K-mart with the Orvis line nippers you can buy at the fly fishing shop. Fly fishermen are suckers. 🙂
We can only comfort ourselves by laughing at the outrageous prices that women are paying for our hackle feathers.

MemberI would think landing a carp on a 000 wt would not be anywhere near as difficult as casting a decent carp fly on a 000 wt.

MemberYeah, like I said, it’s easy to underestimate the degree of artistry that goes into taxidermy.

MemberP.J., don’t worry about luring sharks into swimming areas.

MemberI don’t understand why the taxidermist couldn’t find a head form to match a kype-jawed rainbow.

MemberAlso, give some thought before wading out into the water to get better shots at snook on outgoing tide.

MemberSomehow, I don’t feel like I’m getting my money’s worth out of my share of the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies to the oil companies.

MemberA size 6 clouser is about the size of a crappie jig. I’m not saying big bass can’t be caught on crappie jigs, because once in a blue moon, one hits a lure that size.
However, you don’t see guys in bass tournaments throwing crappie jigs, and for good reason. Think about the size of the mouth on a 6 to 8 pound bass.
A bass in a farm pond is probably primarily eating bluegill and bullfrogs. Match the hatch. You’re probably looking at a bulky fly 3-4 inches long or more instead of something in a #6.
Does this mean you’re going to go a long time between bites?
