Some manufacturer should come out with a high ground clearance, 4WD model.
You have hit upon the only disadvantage to my Previa.
My Toyota minivan may not be pretty, but it cost me less than $3,000 used (maybe my nickname should be The Itinerant Cheapskate), and it’s going on 200,000 miles with no major problems.
Plus, I can carry six people comfortably AND I can travel with all my 9-foot fly rods completely strung up, put together, and ready to fish – how many of you can say that about YOUR vehicles?

I can’t think of a time I needed big honkin flies when I was wading.
Not for stripers or big trout, but I wade for smallmouth and carp in the summer on occasion.

It’s my understanding that the Hendersonville Fly Fishing Club (of which I am a member) is going to have an analyzer at our meeting in a couple months for the members to try out.
I have some predictions about what it will show, though it will be interesting to see if I’m right.
Question for RStouf and any other furled leader users out there:
I have never used a furled leader, but I’ve heard that if you throw a tailing loop and your hook strikes the leader, it will hook the leader and you’ll have a heck of a mess.
I think a little more weight in the back end might be an improvement.
On the other hand, now that I think about it, sometimes I have the same opinion about women.
This is just theory on my part, but maybe the article begs the question whether the sole purpose of rod balance is to lengthen the cast.
Without at least a little weight in the reel, the fulcrum point of the rod will be in front of the caster’s hand.
