This method is probably not as elegant as the shrink wrap, but I tie a nail knot over the nick if it is bad and coat it with super glue or Zap a Gap.
I have the Pentax W60 and it is a great camera for water environments. The Pentax W80 is an upgrade from the W60 and there are some significant differences. The W80 is 12 mp rather than 10 mp (no big deal). The big difference is the W80 is the depth rating (16 feet) and shockproof features. It is now more comparable to the newer Olympus SW series in these areas.
Unless you can get a very good deal on a W60, I would pay the extra $50 for the W80.
I have a Pentax W60 and I’m very pleased with it. I take it out on the kayak and don’t have to worry about it. I just stick it in my shirt pocket and pull it out when needed. The Olympus waterproof is equally as good and may be rated for a little more depth.
For regular point and shoot digitals, I use Canons exclusively. We use a lot of them at work. I just bought a 12.1 mp A1100is with a 4X optical zoom. I chose it over the A2100is, which has a 6X optical zoom, solely on the basis of the optical view finder in the A1100is.

I have a deep level of respect for your well researched posts. While this type of information might not serve to make me a better fisherman, it certainly provides me with converstation that will make me more interesting to fish with. You and I need to hang out more often. We could have some lively conversations on the water. I am still laughing at this….Bring that Gheenoe down here and we’ll tie into some real fish.

I guess, in certain instances, this could be related to crabs.

Why is it that black and white has so much more soul than color? I’ve heard that we dream in black and white. If true, may be.
I’m not a big This is Fly fan, but this is a great article. I can really relate to the guy. No so much the fanaticism, but I tie freeform. Basically look at the materials I have and imagine a fly that could be tied from them. Usually it is a variation of something I have seen, but I never use a recipe or follow instructions.

As mentioned by someone else, I like gurglers and Dahlberg divers. For bass I add rubber legs to my gurglers. I also like deerhair sliders. They have a big profile and cause a lot of cavitation in the water.
Nice snooklets. Snook are my second favorite fish to catch. Ours are the same species, but they grow a little bigger. Here on the Gulf coast I’ve seen snook up to 39″ and they get a little bigger on the Atlantic coast. My largest snook was about 32″, caught sight casting a gurgler on an 8wt.
