Its my opinion that while their waders and boots are still amongst the best, they are charging higher prices than most banking on their past reputation (made in the U.S, sold at fly shops, etc…).

It has gotten beyond bad.  I am to the point where i just drive anywhere that i can possibly get a car to.  But Joe…isnt that a time wasting pain in the ass with the high gas prices and all…Yes it is…but f%$k em’…i’ll be damned if they get any more of my money if it can be avoided…and for this northerner…it almost always can.

You know those Youtube videos you see every couple years where some moron in Yellowstone tries to pet a bison or throw sticks at a moose from 15 feet away?  Would it give you any peace of mind if you saw that same moron walking up the path toward you and he had decided he needed to pack a .44 for the bears?

Having some Bear experience myself i was going to recomend a handgun but you make a great point…handguns do not cure stupidity!

I feel for those who are suckered in by this propaganda and buy rods based off it.

I feel a DT is a better line at fishing distances than a WF in lines under a 6 weight.  Mends better than a WF, better for longer pick ups than a WF, imho more delicate than a WF ( i know that is taper related), and i can turn it around when one side gets worn, and dont forget roll casts! Im sure line manufactures would love to sell WF lines as they can only be used half as long.  Just my opinion, but its what i prefer to fish with under a 6 weight. :-/

I went to Cabela’s today to compare as they had both in stock.  Honestly i did not fall in love with either and ended up buying another Lamson…not to knock anyone’s else s choice, i just felt the Lamson was at another level.  Not to say the others were low quality, just that they didnt have the clicker tension range i needed so i decided to stick with a conventional drag.

the only thing that stops me from buying a sharkskin (imho nothing floats better) is the color.
