Not to start a war here but i have a couple of questions about these two reels from anyone who has used them or compared them in person.

You may want to throw the TFO 1 reel in there as well:

My suspicion is that not only do these reels all have the same general quality, they probably come from the same factory.

I haven’t used or seen the Cortland…but I have a Drift 2/3 that I’ve been using for about a year now and I’ve been very happy with it.

Hey Joe, I actually have both reels in my possession.

Joe H….I think it’s going to come down to aesthetics more than anything else.

Ive also been looking at the Hardy lightweight series but they seem kind of expensive for a real made in the far east…Maybe i should just use a 1492…

Here’s anothe option, check out Leland and Red Truck, they have some very nice looking clicker reels.

I went to Cabela’s today to compare as they had both in stock.  Honestly i did not fall in love with either and ended up buying another Lamson…not to knock anyone’s else s choice, i just felt the Lamson was at another level.  Not to say the others were low quality, just that they didnt have the clicker tension range i needed so i decided to stick with a conventional drag.
