I’m with you, Bill. After watching this show today, I felt kinda violated. The anglers, while skilled, I suppose, showed very little appreciation for the fish they caught. Why would that be? Because the only thing that mattered was a “length number” that went into a chart. Fish went back to the water with very little attention to revival.

This show has much to do with real fishing as reality TV shows have to do with real life. The anglers may have had skill — couldn’t really tell, actually — but I didn’t see much soul.

In my neck of the woods (Colorado) the San Juan Worm hatch usuallly follows the Wooly Bugger hatch and generally precedes the Rubber-Legged Stimulator hatch.

Wasn’t it John Gierach who memorialized the Adams hatch?

There is a rumour and that’s all it is that a Sony full frame sensor DSLR is up next. The A100 out now is an entry level DSLR 10.3 MB .

Sony’s absorbtion of Minolta was a very smart move , giving them the 5d ( basis for the A100?) and 7d ( may be the basis for the full frame?) and a lens mount to play with.

If the rumour comes to fruition I personally would be very interested, as my experience with the DSC R1 10.3 MB has been superb . It does however lack in the macro dept. so a solid 10 MB + DSLR complement

From the start of the split till it was fully out, maybe 70-80 seconds. Then another 30 -40 secs or so of wing drying/unfurling and repositioning to classic stonefly wing position. Pretty fast:)
