My first guess would be something like a Dremmel tool, but the cheapest way would be to buy precut/preformed bodies.

How is your trip to BC going?

Whats a Dremmel tool never heard of one. Went to the island last weekend and fished the little Qualicum river caught a half dozen cutthrout trout the biggest one was about 1 1/2 pounds all on dry flies. Klinkhammers. not sure if i will get any more fishing tied up with work.

A little twist on poppers with tubes:) a Dremel is a mini- hand drill for all intents and purposes:)

The concave part is formed on a lathe with a rounded-edged emory board pressed into the front face.

That sounds great. I tried to make some out of polystyrene  but the balls kept breaking off in chunks. Never fished with poppers on the fly before sounds like fun.

FWIW, I much prefer not having a concave face on my poppers.
