The Itinerant AnglerAfter doing some further research and shopping around I am looking at buying a “B+W 67mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer Multi-Coated Glass Filter” for my Canon DSLR.
Is B+W a quality filter brand?
Thanks for all the feedback.

The Itinerant AnglerI also swear by a circular polarizer; being that most of my photos are on or around water, I typically just leave the filter on all the time unless the light conditions are getting low.

The Itinerant AnglerZach, here is the first fly shop I have noticed selling the new Whiting Fashion Packs online… http://greatfeathers.com/whiting-fashion-packs.aspx … $48 for 12 very long, sleek Whiting saddle feathers.

The Itinerant AnglerNice shot! That photo looks like something out of a movie.
After doing research, re-reading this article again ( http://www.naturephotographers.net/dw0502-1.html), and looking back at some of the olders threads on IA I think I will start with a good CP and GND. Hopefully, those 2 filters will help a lot when I am out in bright sunlight taking shots of landscapes and don’t have a choice of the time of day to get the shot.
I think I remember someone said in an post last year about some sort of adapter for filters so you can fit your filters on different diameter lenses. If true, what is that adapter called?

The Itinerant AnglerThanks everyone. My son and daughters loved being out West so much they are creating a photo album of the trip.
JW, #6 is Fairy Falls and #3 is Mystic Falls. Fairy Falls has a really cool, clear pool at the bottom. Mystic Falls has beautiful flowers, unusual lava rock formations and a very scenic creek along the hike to the falls.
Our most memorable hike was to the top of Mount Washburn, Crossing snow drifts and getting hit by a hail storm on the way to the top.

You can read the tea leaves and know that their A3 series is due for replacement this year, but the specifics have not been released yet.

The Itinerant AnglerThat’s a Major Mullet; you can get them at Cohutta Fishing Co. up in Cartersville or maybe at the Fish Hawk if they haven’t hidden them. 🙂

The Itinerant AnglerI just returned a couple of days ago from there. Â The Madison, Gibbon and Firehole are all in great shape. I was sort of surprised they weren’t getting pounded by more fishermen. Driving over the Lamar, Slough and Soda Butte they were still fairly blown out still. The Upper Gallatin was getting much clearer, but the lower section towards the canyon was still running pretty high and discolored.

The Itinerant AnglerZach, I sold 4 Pro Grade Whiting saddles for $1200 to a shop out West. If you want more info about the e-commerce end of the hair extension biz I can give some more details privately.
IMHO, I personally don’t believe it is over. It is the lack of the long, dyed griz colors and summer vacations. The “Fashion Packs” are just coming out now.

The Itinerant AnglerI resisted for a long time and I am glad I did. I am still learning how to really use my equipment after several years.
After the advice I received on this forum I was glad I bought a used Canon 17-85mm f4 IS lens for our trip our West. I used that lens a lot more than my used Canon 70-300mm f5.6 IS or my Canon 24mm f2.8.
Buying used lenses saved me money, thanks again to the guys on this forum, and the lenses were in excellent shape. Before I buy another lens I plan on researching and buying some quality filters.

The Itinerant AnglerThat’s great Matt.

The Itinerant AnglerCheck out the SA Mastery Skagit Extreme line; it’s a good one to get started with because you can chunk out an 80′ roll cast and at least fish while you learn.

Are you getting any butt on the fish at all or are you basically just pointing the rod at it and fighting him off the reel?
