Thought I might update this a little as it’s a remarkably useful thread for anyone interested in fishing literature or general reading.
Since I wrote this I’ve read a lot of different stuff.

Most people would say any soft-sided or soft-rubber net is as “catch and release friendly” as we can make it.
For me, it’s RAW saved directly to a Mac > opened in Adobe Lightroom > Reviewed and selected, then pulled out to Photoshop > Basic exposure work done, then saved into max JPEG > JPEGs are copied to an archive harddrive, then re-opened in my PC (I have a CRT monitor that I have simply used to color-correct everything so I am familiar with it and what I want.)
So I take it he is basically exposing each section of the image for maximum color saturation and sharpness and then overlaying the entire image so that it has an unreal all-colorful, all-sharp look?
The rod is technically a 10-13 weight, but the real reason I was throwing it and not the 10 weight TFO Saltwater I had on board was that I saw what that first 24 pound striper did to that heavy fiberglass trolling rod.
