Hahaha, thanks Carter – total idea for the next Fly Tackle Retailer show. How hard do you think it would be to rearrange the phrase “Hey Joan, wanna meet me down by the tracks?” in a non-offensive way?
The Z-Axis was the main rod I threw today, Simon, but the TFO is actually unmarked – I think it is a 6 weight. These rods will throw many kinds of lines, depending on their application. I was throwing a Rio 6/7 Skagit Line and dropping a fly around 120′ (40m?) away with an overhead cast. I’m not a good spey caster so I was limited to 80 feet or so, but it will pretty much handle any kind of fly appropriate for a 6 weight at those distances. I like Switch rods for the ability to aerialize big casts and make spey set-ups like the Snake roll, and for their ability to mend at long distances. Since I was pretty much using my 13′ 6/7 wt. double-hander as a switch rod anyway, this suits my purposes better. I’d really like to try one in a 5 weight, and I look forward to lining a bunch tomorrow and testing them out.

I admit in advance that I have not thought these issues all the way through, but it seems to me that one way to actually have an impact on access nationwide would be to begin petitioning those states with aberrant stream-bottom rules to fall in line with the rest of the country.
