Awesome shots Will. I couldn’t zoom in close enough to tell, what are you catching them on?

    Ty Ian:)

Those were taken on basically small black leech patterns, it,s spring here we have a leech hatch-

Stu calls them his own pet name for the pattern ,but for the most part

Those catfish do look pretty freaky, I expect.

Yes somehow the brown bullhead catfish found its way into our waterways. I have never caught one but they are in Lake Taupo and several other North Island watersheds.
Nothing as big as what Will caught though. (I don’t think?) :-/
I think that fish is an amazing capture and I can only imagine how hard a big fella like that would go in current too!!
If I ever get a chance I’d love to have a crack at a fish like that Will! All I have to trade you is a trout though

    Awesome pix & fish Will,
Never would have thought them a flyrod target, but then again I never thought them a saltwater fish either..

Here’s a saltwater catfish from Cape york I caught while chucking big flies for Barramundi in January.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.
