Honestly, after the day I had, Mervin could have shipwrecked us on a reef and I would still have been happy.
I just use a set of Yakima bars on the roof; I velcro the rods to it using neoprene-padded velcro straps intended for holding bait rods together (mine are Shimano).
The front taper of all fly lines is flat for a few feet in order to allow for successive cuts back as anglers add nail-knotted leaders.

I looked at all of those, but I’m really looking for wheels more in the 24″ and up range; my idea is to be able to haul the boat down some trails I know of that are overgrown with roots, and anything much smaller than a couple feet is going to get hung a lot and generally suck to pull.

Hey Rusty –
I looked pretty hard at the canoe/pontoon transport and it is definitely a good idea; a lot of companies are making less robust versions of what I had in mind, which was essentially to turn my boat into a travois for trundling down a trail to the river.
Something about that system just makes the fish look right; that and the stripped red and white oak forest behind you tipped me off.
That could be due to the spawn but I doubt it; spawning browns tend to go the other way and flush bright colors, and they will spawn until much later in the year.
