A question like this …if you put a Orvis- Clearwater label on the G2 rod. Am I going to use that rod?… Of course I do and love to…Nothing wrong with “hate” or “love” of one brand…But there are certain something wrong with the “BLINDNESS” Somebody say… I hate XXX because it is XXX… Don’t you think it is funny…I think this is as funny as… I love 000 because it is 000 😉
I love orvis’s shop indeed. Because I can drive there naked and have everything ready for fishing 10 mins later, at the same time, my kid and wife have their shopping experience satisfied. No body get bored. Isn’t that Great!! Do I use scott/sage/patagonia… Oh…yeah! I love them all… in different aspects… they are all Pro and have their place in my heart…

I love to visit the Orvis shop in Atlanta. They provide good servis and tremendously helpful. Especially, a guy called Shannon… He always give out his secret spots 😉Yes, by the Corps of Engineers over the strident objections of the people of Atlanta. But then again, its not my problem, so they can work it out.

Thanks for the photos… will tie some of these.It amazes me that Atlanta thinks the drought only affects them and they have sole claim on the water. The drought extends all the way south and the downstream people have water rights too.

. . . I fished on the Chatchattahoochee river today and the water was HIGHER than ever. I could barely fish safely in my float tube. As some of you know this release of water out of Lake Lenier is a very controversial topic and I won’t discuss it here.
Atlanta city did not claim on the water… the water was released for downstream creatures and people.
Ha… Man… you guys are too serious about everything, don’t you think! ;D Just kidding…

“Skills” in fishing, photography, and biology are definitly have different level differences. But should I be the expert to post here?! NO. Definitely not. There are a lot of great books out there… why not just grab one and learn fast…to me this is a interactive website, you are talk to real man… from Everywhere in the World… This is fascinating to me.
To me, I always can extract some “fun” or “interesting” elements out of these posts. I enjoy reading people’s journey, trip photo and what they THINK…
If people don’t like, or have a special comment… indeed… the PM is the best way to go… Be honest… I enjoy seeing a lot of “grab and grin” photos… what a great moments and this is happening in the people you know… Just my little 2 cents…

This is Honest opinion!!…I know what Clark’s saying, we can over complicate it by tying to throw too far and by trying to be too tricky too early on. The track of the tip sounds like its giving you problems. Most mistakes happen in the back cast area, especially at the point of the “stop” when the rod tip can wander all over the place. The rod tip has to stop dead and the only other movement it can make is backwards and downwards, but still in a straight line path – anything else is going to cause grief. That’s why I suggested you turn and watch the tip of the rod. Choose a point you want it to stop at, use a sighter such as a tree or a point of a house and watch the rod tip and that point – make your stop stop…

Just add some factors that also influence “the weight feel” of a rod.A Swing weight factor. Some rods have larger swing weight than the others (even the net weight are the same). They feel tip heavy when hold in hand… You feel slower, heavier inertia when you want to change direction. the lighter the swing weight, the lighter the feel on hand, also need lighter reel to balance.
The method you chose. When I high sticking or nymphing, as you know, there are not much casting involved. I use light reel and light line reduce the overall weight, I sacrifice the balancing part.
