MemberKill and destroy missions out of choppers with no doors and with a H&K or Bennelli shotgun for goats is adrenaline plus. All in the name of flora conservation. [smiley=evil.gif]
I guess pest control are more fun in NZ!

MemberHi Steve,
I have a Midge reel. It is my go-to reel for small rods. It is very light…so I usually storage it in my vest pocket… Several advantages and disvantages about it…
1) It is a very light reel with relative big spool diameter, this reel pick up line pretty fast. (this is the main character that attracted me…) I put a sage DT3 line on it without backing… (no room for backing…Zach know that :'() but for trout fishing, I never get fish into my backing… so it is ok…
2) This reel was designed about 20 years ago, it is very basic and simple mechanic… six wheels support the tapered spool… This open frame design make it become”easy dirty and easy maintain”. Bascially, you screwed tight the right arm with 3 wheels and the spool get more friction because of the tension… (please see Dannielson’s website for detail diagram). Also this is Not a “drag system”, they called it “overrun prevent”. If you like palmming, this is the reel need a lot of palmming…
3) The light weight might not balance your rod well… so you might want to try it first… to me, this is less important…because I like everything as light as possible in my hiking trip…
4) The open frame design will collect debris eventually and the debris or dust will scratch the spool…but it won’t influence the main funtion.
Overall, I love this reel… no problem in trout fishing, light weight and I really like the original designer’s simple idea. 😉 Sincerely, Mark

MemberHey Mending,
Very nice shot! I really love the kids photos! They are just such a great models…
Like what you said, I do’t want my river get too crowded and heavily fished. But on the other hand, I also love to share with other people, friends…I hate fish alone…be honest…
It is really confuse me when refer to write a article or report… sometimes…
I guess we want people to share and respect the river at the same time…but it’s need some skill when publish such information in the public. Markyuhina
MemberHey David,
Great samples and great photos again!!

Me and my brother always hike far to get rid of the crowds…
We call it “the secret spots in a popular river”
I did not grow up from Provo… but my brother does… he always told me how the fishing went before the dam… well… The good thing is the fish there get smarter and still grow healthier… 😉
I would love to see some of your pictures from the provo though 🙂
Sincerely,Mark

MemberThat is great explaination, Richard!
To my knowledge, I have seen some portrait photographer use TSE lens for tilting in model shooting (Canon TSE 45 / 90mm) (note: I have not done that by myself). The most prominent effect to me were the control the depth of the field. It seems they can push the shallow DOF even shallower (opposite of landscape adjustment)… and also creating the exaggeration in the wide angle lens like TSE 24mm. (not very sure…just my guessing) Markyuhina

nice works… Zach…Well said! Richard, it’s all about the limit of imagination!
The TSE lens are so nice…I always want to try it in the landscape shot…BTW, love the redfish tail…very impressive : )yuhina

MemberHi David,
I really LOVE your photo style from your website! Usually I would say “professional level” to my friends if I like their pictures… but I have to use another term for a real professional! “Outstanding among the professionals ” your shots have a very CLEAN style. I really love that… models or FF photos… 🙂
I have to agree gill fishing could be very additive too… 😉 Fortunately, down here in the dirty south AL., we have streams full with these little guys in different species and their forgiveness to take flies…
see attached photos… 🙂
