I live in Rigby and fish the Henry’s some in September but spend more time throwing streamers/hoppers on the South Fork or hunting Chukars and Grouse in the foothills.

I live about 1/2 mile from the SF so I am a little biased.  I fish pretty much year round and my favorite time of year is right now.  The spring can be great streamer/nymphing time but can get blown out depending on rain and snowpack.  The summer is yellow sallies, PMD’s and hoppers but the fall is streamers, BWO’s and cast and blast.  For me floating down the river throwing streamers and shooting ducks is pretty tough to beat.
I was out on Friday and Saturday this weekend and had two of the best days of dry fly fishing of the year.  Paul Bowen is a great local guide.  Call Jimmy’s All Season Angler in Idaho Falls for info on conditions and guides.

We went down to San Martin de Los Andes, fished several areas and stayed at Quemquemtreu.

I didn’t get the action shots but we had 4 days last week where we limited by 11:00am.  Maybe next year I will put down the gun and pick up the camera.

I move back and forth between the SF and HF at that time of year and it all depends on the runoff and dam releases.

After growing up in Montana and then moving around the country for jobs and school, this book brought back the feeling of home more than any I have read in a long time.

Make sure you stop a Chico Hot Springs after fishing for a beer or a soak.

Rick Williams does not sound familiar but Driggs is a small town so if he skied or fished much I am sure we crossed paths

I spent the last 5 years in Driggs (across the pass) from Jackson and I would second the recomendation for Westbank Anglers.

I have spent quite a few days in the box and on the South Fork chucking streamers.
