MemberOf course I’ll agree that the Ross F1 #5 is a good choice. Absolutely built for Tarpon. It was designed as a 10-12 weight reel with 275 yd of 30lb dacron with a 10 weight line – a bit skinnier on a 12 weight but still plenty (if a fish has taken 200 yards of your backing you’re in big trouble and better start chasing).
It is a bit more beefy than the smaller F1s to handle bigger loads and prohibit flex.
