Nice looking fish. The weather here was lousy so I stayed in and watched the hockey game. 73,000 fans at a hockey game is impresive.

Were i’m located. Most of the guy’s that shore fish, usually drive to the coast. From there they drive as close to tho coast as possible. When they spot birds feeding. They pull over and go at it. The guy’s with small water craft do the same thing but from the water. I hope to add the salt to my routine this season. Everyone gives me a hard time for chasing Trout & Smallies. I live less than 2 miles from Salem Sound. I know some guy’s who land 100+ fish in a day from a small boat. I won’t catch that many in a whole season  :'( I think it’s time to diversify!  ;D

Nice rebound. I had my new IA shirt on last night for the family get together. The tie didn’t look right though. Still have it on now as i’m debating if I want to go fishing 32 degrees and most likely no fish around or go take some pic’s at the ocean. My only real complaint is all the coffee shops ie. Dunkin Donuts will be closed  :'(

I also add on to my store bought leaders until I have to through it away. I know hand tied leaders have their advantages and yes it is part of the addiction for me  ::)

in reply to: Would this catch fish on your stream? #22017

I like it. It would work here mostly because the fish are stockers

in reply to: Holliday Greetings #21945

I live about 1 hour south of you so it shouldn’t be much longer for the dog sleds to reach you.

in reply to: Cow Standing Factor #21957

Were I live and fish the only cows that we come accross are the type for “Cow Tipping”  ::)   Sad to say it, but the local farm in these parts is a thing of the past. We do have 3 in my town but they are real small probaly under 10 acres each. To keep them as farms the town along with the state of MA had to buy the land at market price and lease it back to the farmers. The other 3 or 4 are now developed   🙁  Some day i’ll know what you guy’s are talking about

in reply to: Background music in fishing videos #21863

The song that my nephews hockey team takes the ice to is Saliva’s Ladies & Gentlemen. It could also be a cool song for a FF video  😎 Hey at least it’s not Yani   ;D ;D ;D

How about a teaser pic to hold us over.  Like seafood was saying don’t kill yourself trying to get them in the mail. Granted I don’t get many presents at christmas because i’m single but if I need to wait an extra week thats ok  😉

in reply to: Jack Gartside – A Christmas Story #21622

Jack lives close to me. My nephew use to have hockey practice every tue night in Jacks town. I was hoping to get in on a tying class but it was the wrong day. So instead I would hang in the rink for 2 hours and work on my tollerance to the deep freeze. It helped to get me ready for winter fishing. The last 2 winters I haven’t been working outside as much in the winter. I miss it.

in reply to: Fly mags #21489

I tend to pick up most of the ones that are sold in the shops. My favorite would have to be Flyfishing & Tying Journal. Maybe if I stop looking at all the pictures and put some time into reading the articles maybe it would help me catch more fish  😕

in reply to: How many days do you spend on the water? #17241

    Hello

I’m a newbie here. I joined back in Jan. 06 and I posted for the first time today. I give a new meening to “Being Slow”  ::)  Like most of you I find myself grabbing a few hours at a time more often than spending a full day. I’m often given a hard time by others do to my being slow to come around to fishing the salt for stripers. I live less than a mile from the Danvers River. Some of you may have heard about the little explosion we had here last November. It leveled a neighborhood. I have my own carpentry business and work alone so it dosen’t get to crazy, but at the end of most days i’m toast. Plus after I get home and shower, and the AC kicks in, it’s real tough to stop watching the Red Sox game to go out in 90 degree weather to fish  😛  So I save my fishing for saturday after 3 (I work 9-3 on sat) and sundays. But I do fish 12 months a year. Nothing better than standing in the river and seeing the looks on the faces of people driving by and seeing me removing ice from my rod tip  😎
