MemberThank so much Zach I have been tying them very similar except I have been using a tungston conehead and .025 lead. On the white ones I had a hard time finding white body hair had to use belly hair didn’t like nearly as much as the body hair. They are a killer fly had a very large brown on the white one last Sunday on The North Branch of the Potomac in Maryland.

MemberI don’t know about you guys but when nothings working can always put on the sjw to catch a few. I always make myself feel bad after using it for awhile though just doesn’t feel right to me. Oh well, always catch some big fish with it.

MemberThanks man you keep me going as I will be on the Snake, Green, Flat creek and a horseback trip to Elk refuge next august for my honeymoon. I know how gratifing it can be to be able to fish hard with you better half sticking right there with you. What was the hopper of choice? Rainy’s grand?

MemberLooks like a great trip Zach. Why would you want to leave that, find a guide job for the summer ski all winter! What kind of fly might you have there?

MemberThanks as usual Paul went to local tailwater last night and caught 15-20 fingerlings on it but the great thing about the fly is a size 20 was very easy to see in some pretty choppy water. I love tying with cdc so this is just another great pattern from Harrop.

MemberDo what I do I buy Fluoroflex Plus guide spools 110 yards for 31.95. I get them at the fly shop i’m sure you could find them anywhere.

MemberThanks for all the replies. I’m using mono leaders and fluoro tippet (rio) and having no problems. I do a triple surgeon’s knot just to make sure because I was told that they don’t hold as well as mono-mono or fluoro-fluoro.

MemberI am taking a companion and she will be my wife of three months by then. She also fishes just as much as me. Anyway it will be our first time there so were not sure exactly what we will be doing yet that is why we started planning now. Probably two to three days of floating and maybe an overnight horseback trip.
