I also avoid buying bottled water.  Buy a refillable bottle like that one pictured, save the plastic waste!

If you don’t already have a refillable type bottle, there’s no reason why the Poland Springs type bottles can’t be refilled as well. After I purchased my last supply of Poland Springs, I started saving the bottles and started reusing them.

I may be mistaken, but I don’t think they are available in stores. I bought one and he sent me two. They work great!

Two different fish, but with very similar coloring. This might help:

in reply to: Joan Wulff school? #25814

I’ve taken all of Joan Wulff’s courses – Trout School, Casting School and her Instructors School. All are great and highly recommend them. And, I can’t say enough about Sheila Hassan. Shortly after taking the instructor school, she became my mentor and personally prepped me in becomming a FFF CCI. She, and her husband Bill, are excellent casters and instructors.

Just to clarify though . . . as far as the Wulff schools go, they are not “billed” to specifically prepare you to take the FFF CCI test. It’s an excellent casting school which, in turn, will certainly help prepare you become a better caster and I highly recommend them.

    Let’s all congratulate Rich.

Rich is being modest. What he didn’t tell you is that he passed the FFF CCI test and is now a Certified Casting Instructor.

Way to go, Rich! Welcome aboard.

Thanks, Charlie. Yes, I am in Massachusetts!

I want to thank everyone for all this great information. Please, keep it coming!

Along the same topic, can anyone suggest any books that stand out from the rest on the topic of getting started in saltwater?

in reply to: This is extremely awesome #17550

I’m dying to see this video you guys are talking about, but everytime I click on the link the little progress circle in the video area keeps on spinning and nothing happens.

I haven’t had problems watching videos in the past and can’t figure out what is going on.

    Any suggestions?

in reply to: fishing logo help #15376

Well, now it makes a whole lot more sense to me. I was thinking that you were simply another fly shop. Now that I see that it ties in to something on a more grand scale, I see where your fly shop logo is consistent with your existing logo.

Nice job! And thanks for the clarification.

in reply to: fishing logo help #15374

I think it’s a really great looking logo. Seriously! I do agree that it may have too fine of detail for embroidery though.

But, could someone explain to me what the relationship is between a fly shop and a cattle company and why a business would name itself something that it’s not? I seem to be missing something.

in reply to: GPS + Mapping #14756

Quick question for all you GPS experts out there . . .

Can all, or most, GPS handheld units have latitude and longitude co-ordinates input into them?

Sometimes I play around with Goole Earth and locate water I may want to fish. Since they provide these co-ordinates, it would be nice to be able to put them into a GPS and get the directions on how to get there.

in reply to: fishing logo help #15355

I really like the logo. But when I think about what type of business it’s for, what does it have to do with fly fishing?

I don’t mean to be negative about this, but shouldn’t there be some correlation between the two?

This is an excellent video. Although its title is “Saltwater Fly Casting: 10 Steps to Distance and Power”, I found it applies to all distance casting and general casting as well.

Make sure you’re logged in, then click on the profile button. Then click on the “Modify” button.

    Enter your password.

    Then click on “Options”.

Where it says “I have my own pic”, enter the URL where it is stored.

Then click on “Change Profile” at the bottom of the page.

    That’s it!
