I try and minimize the obviousness of my gear.  I have heard alot of stories about cars being broken in to, generally i think this happens more often when people advertise the expensive gear they might have.

Just another view…plus its kind of tacky (in my humble opinion)

Yea, if the fact that your Subaru/jeep/f150/yukon is parked on a turn out next to the river doesn’t tell em, the stickers sure will!

I have a a number of custom ( home ) made tanks ranging from 2x3x 1/2″ in thickness to 6x4x 1″ in thickness for imaging aquatic critters from bugs to small fishes.

Will I’d be interested to learn a little more about your tanks, they sound really interesting

Mike, there are some really nice shots there. I’m thinking, though, that on some you are either not close enough or not back enough. I am loving the patterns and colors you are finding, but in the first one, there is a lot of dead useless information on the left side of the photo and on the right side the fishies mouth is cropped awkwardly. The second photo is more ‘on’ to me, but I am still finding the crop near the mouth a bit strange. 3d photo you have your hand in it ( not sure if that is ok to you or not, but the human element changes the photo ) fourth photo is great as are the rest.

I think you are off to a great start and as you shoot more you’ll start to find the focus points and framing that works best for you.

more info than I’m sure most of you want to know about copyright in those first two links and that book is a must read for anyone who licenses any photos ever. ever. even if it is just one or two a year, you still need to know what you are doing.

    Very nice photos!

have you thought about taking the fence posts out of a shot or two? that way you have both free looking elk and others that are fenced out. I can see both having appeal.

I like “Herd Bull With Some Of His Harem” best and one of the two in the late light! see hard to choose!

    Thanks for the welcome guys!

Lando, I can’t wait to get back! It was a great time. I ‘almost’ wished I had fished that last day. Almost.

I should have the hook and bullet section of the website up this weekend sometime, if anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks Mike.  But, the G12 is not a through the lens viewing beast is it?  So, how can you see if the CP is rotated to the maximum polarization position???

trial and error. large memory cards are cheap. take a shot and take a look. don’t like what you see change the orientation and take another and so on and so on and so on until you get what you like. just hold the filter in front of the lens. hold it up against the lens as flat as you can.

    just my thoughts.
