MemberAllan,
Three useful and not terribly dated books on Saltwater Flies are:
Prey-Designing and Tying New Imitations of Fresh and Saltwater Forage Foods, Carl Richards, 1995
Saltwater Flies-Over 700 of the Best, Deke Meyer, 1995
A Fly Fisher’s Guide to Saltwater Naturals and Their Imitation, George Roberts Jr., 1994

MemberSounds like a great time, but I cannot see the pictures. I am getting a photobucket icon telling me the bandwidth has been exceeded. Anyone have a clue as to why I might be getting this? IS anyone else seeing this?
Its because FREE has its limitations – resolved.

MemberHappy winter Mike. Days like these will keep you warm in the winter.
Never fear – we have at least another month of decent local fishing and I’ll be in Alabama for some Stripers and Tampa for some Reds the end of the month.

MemberWhen you show up in Western Pa let me know, I owe you a beer or two at the micro brewery in Slippery Rock.
Eric
Looks like I be in Cranberry next week on Tues and Weds evenings.

MemberMike Cline…great report and that soft hackle box looks nicely stocked. I like.
Cameron, Thanks – here’s a shot of the whole box. I fill up the empty spaces after every trip. These are my go to flies when I am not chucking bigger stuff.

MemberI am wondering when the best time to purchase plane tickets might be.
When the client is paying for it is my motto 😀

MemberOff to the Jeff for the last day to rip some more streamers. My second time on this river and I think I’m in love and might actually have to throw down the $$$ for a drift boat soon! lol
Great post Corey! Isn’t the upper Jefferson a neat and lonely piece of water? Did you float from the park in town to Hell’s Canyon or lower down?

MemberPete,
There are a number of hotels in West with conference/meeting facilities.

Member… And you get covered by the OEM factory warranty.
When you build your own with a high-end blank, the blank is covered just like an OEM rod is.

MemberHey Mike, what model orvis rod do you have in the picture? Interesting reel seat.
The rod is an Orvis Trout Bum Super Fine, 4wgt, Tip Flex. With a RIO Selective Trout DT line, its perfect for both long and short casts on the Firehole and Madison.
Mike,
Great report.

MemberMaybe its my age or my upbringing but for me its: Yanni, John Tesh, Enya, Cusco, Tangerine Dream, Kitaro and other new age instrumentals that really bring nature alive.

MemberThere’s something to say for SW Montana – the fish are here!

MemberAny chance it will snow? ;D
EricAlthough it might not snow a lot, its going to be on the cool side. West will have hard frosts in the teens every morning and the Park won’t warm up much over 50 during the week. Any fronts that come through will probably turn to light snow, at least in the Park. Bozeman Pass had 6 inches mid week during the last storm and Bozeman is getting frosts in the morning as well. Pack your thermals!
Prime Time is here 🙂 The wimps will be staying home. See you Saturday Eric

MemberMike.. haha. your name was mentioned a few times as we struggled on the Firehole.. as in “We should call Mike” and “If Mike can catch fish here, we should be able to”. Just kidding on the last one… kinda.
Haven’t been on the Firehole yet this fall because the fishing locally has been so good. But October will put the above praise to the test as I plan on being on the Firehole with friends and relatives most of my free days until the end of the season. I hope I can live up to the hype ::) Thanks Eric.

MemberHeaven ;D
I think I floated with Seth out of the Stonefly Inn a few years back.
