MemberOther than Simms, does any other company manufacture decent wading pants?
You can find a couple of wading pants here, and they’re quite good too.
Only thing is, i don’t know if they are aviable in US shops . . .

MemberThese are the rods i most likely use for trout and salmonfishing here in norway :
3wt : Winston Lt5 8.9 ft & Loop Multi 9 ft
4wt : Scott S3 8.6 ft , Winston WT 9 ft , Sage SLT 9 ft and a Sage SP 9 ft
5wt : Scott G2 8.8 ft , Sage XP 9.6 ft , St.Croix Legend Elite 9 ft and a LTS X1 10 ft
6wt : Loop Multi 9.6 ft
7wt : Loop Greyline 9.6 ft
8wt : Scott S3 9.6 ft
9-10 wt : HiLevel 13,6 ft (two handed)
Most of my reels are Loop/Danielsson’s & Galvan Torquelars
MemberI have just bought two of their new Multi rods, a 9′ #4 and a 9’6 #6 !
These are truly great rods, along with the Greyline-series the best i’ve tried from Loop ever !
I’m pretty sure you won’t find better rods for singelhand speycastlars
MemberCheck this link for Loop’s latest rod-series (english version) :

For the price you have to pay for this stuff in US i can see why you prefer american brands

MemberDrifter,
Thank you so much, that seemed to be just what i was looking forlars
MemberJust got the “Colorados Major 6” dvd !
Funny thing is that Disc 1 in this two piece box works just fine on my european dvd player !
Disc 2 however, doesen’t work ! Sad, since this disc should include a visit on Scott factorylars
MemberAs an aside, I’ve been drooling over the Greyline two-handers (“Spey Rods” in American parlance) for several years. They are, in my opinion, the best looking spey rods on the market with the possible exception of the Winstons. No one in the spey world has caught on to the fact that trout fishermen are the ones who buy pretty rods and made a pretty trout spey yet, but I’m expecting someone will some day.
The Greyline speyrods are truly good lookin, along with some of G.Loomis new spey rods, not to mention CF Burkheimers

MemberHere we just figure it out ourself, no guide taking us to fish the streams.
Jay
Here in norway we have only ONE single troutstream who offers guided fishing, and the only reason i can come up with is because we are so few anglers here, and still so many great rivers, the guiding buisiness would be rather slow !
It’s the same thing in sweden and finland !
The most famous atlantic salmon rivers, like Alta & Namsen, of course offers guides though . . . !
And Zach, i totally agree with you about the european rods & reel stuff, that is, most of it is manufactered in asia ! The only exception is the Danielsson (former Loop) reels, who is still made in sweden, and now to a much better price than with the Loop logo !
These are fantastic reels, at least for those of us who prefer true LAlars
MemberHey…could you post a few photographs of the Loop Yellowline. I’ve thought for a couple of years now that series is pretty sharp. The spey rods are pretty well spoken of I believe. Loop rods are still hard to come by in the USA.
I’m afraid i don’t have any good pictures of my yellowline rods at the moment, but here is one !
These are lovely spey-rods, and very soft ! My G2 rod almost feels stiff compared to the yellowline 😕
I guess the warm yellow color has scared lots of fishermen from even trying these rods ;D
The finish ain’t quite as good as the top americanmade rods, but they are great fishing-tools for those who prefer a calm, harmonic action !
Only thing is they were only aviable as 3-pieces !
This colorline-series (greyline, greenline, yellowline, blueline & blackline) was discounted by Loop last year, and have now been replaced with the Multi & Opti series !
I really like the new Opti rods, but the price is IMO way too stiff for an asian-made rod !lars
MemberI usually fish small to medium trout-streams here in norway, and my rods to go is Scott G2 8’8 #5, Sage SP 490 & Loop Yellowline 8’8 #3 (scandinavian as i am)
