Has anyone fished these rods that have been circulating on Ebay made by a company called LOOP? These are the rods that I believe they used in the Trout Bum Diaries….Looked the company up through googling and they appear to be a European based company as I see all of their measurements for clothing in metric….Just curious….Jim

Loop is a Norwegian or Swedish company that was initially famous for their long two handed rods.

A local shop carried Loop rods a few years ago as their “budget salt” option when I was outfitting for my first bonefish trip.

I’m really fond off my Loop rods. I have a twohanded 14 footer for an 8 line which I use for fishing larger rivers. It’s a Black line and it cost me €325 which really is a fair price for such a rod. In casting it is no fast rod, but it has much power. I like it very much and when I come to the US (maybe 2008) I will take this rod with me to catch me some big Chinook in Salmon River upstate NY.

My second Loop rod is 9 ft 3″ for a 5-weight. It’s a delicately throwing rod with easy loading properties which really throws a long line when needed. I use this rod as my standard for trouting and Graylingfishing. This rod is rather ugly because off it’s color but this is compensated by it’s quality. I bought this rod from another fisherman, who didn’t use it anymore because he bought another rod.

Loop is Swedishbased. Loop reels are very expensive, but in Europe there are lots off Loop-addicts. Me myself I’m more into Arie ‘t Hart reels. These are so slick….. 😛

For the price you have to pay for this stuff in US i can see why you prefer american brands
