Memberπ Thanks for the response. Now I will get to use the 1 and 2 wts that I haven’t used in several years. It seems to make sense. I do like my 3/4 wt Fran Betters rod, but Those 1 and 2’s are are waiting. Thanks again. Silver Doc

MemberQuestion. Do you (anyone) think that by using an ultra light, i.e 1wt. stresses the fish by keeping it on in order to work it in to the net or other method for hook release. I’m sure the fight is great, but I felt that it takes longer to get the fish in and increases the level of lactic acid. I switched to a 3/4 wt. and even a 5 wt.

Memberπ Go for the Tilley hat. The one that looks like “the ugly hat”, but it’s tan coloured. They’re guarantied for life and will be replaced even if you lose it. If and elephant eats and it comes out opposite the trunk side, you can count on them for wear. I wear mine when it’s too hot for the baseball hat. Also because of cancer of the skin I use the highest rated sun screen. Good luck. Silver Doc

Memberπ I repaired my Chota’s. I bought a repair kit. I removed the old felt and then used Gorilla glue. I made sure the soles were really tight by using screws to keep the soles secure. When they dried (left to dry for 36 hours) I removed the screws. and just replaced the studs with new ones. I’ve been fishing on the repaired boots at least 3 times a week for the last 6 months without a problem. Silver Doc

And they wonder why lawyers have image problems? Nothing about “helping people” just about making money! That’s so sad. But that’s about 90% of the profession.

MemberMet some buddies & headed down state WV. Fished the Smoke Hole C&R area of the South Branch of the Potomac. Started strong with 2 bows within 15 minutes. Caught on size 16 black stone nymph.
Water was cold, clear & very low. Had to cover lots of water to find the fish. Well worth it though.
