    My boat is white, which looks pretty sharp, but I have found I have to sponge it off when I pull it out of the river every time to keep from getting a scum line stain along the sides – especially when I’ve been carp fishing.

    I think if I had to paint one, I might consider light brown.

    I’ve sanded the lint left in the paint on the first coat by the rollers out with steel wool, and addressed the worst of the paint runs. I’ve got foam cabinet rollers for rolling the second coat; the roll and tip method has been working great but I was using only the cheapest rollers before.

    Second coat with the roll-and-tip method.  For those who may ever follow in my footsteps, I got two complete coats on the exterior of my Highsider with one quart of Interlux Brightside thinned by 5% in regular mineral spirits.  It looks great.  I am just going to do one more coat for complete coverage and it’ll be ready to flip and reattach the rails.  Most likely that will be this Sunday.

    Looking good (or tit)!

    I like the high gloss! Is the paint (in the above photo) completely dry?

    Do me a favor…get some registration numbers with a little character as opposed to the standard font stuff you find at Walmart.

    It isn’t cured but it is dry, yes.

    Zach,

    You’ve really got a nice smooth coat on there. Did you wet sand the last coat….or leave it as it is?
