    Mike –

You have a number of options.

Look up line splicing; you can basically strip some of the coating off and thread the core through the other broken end with a needle.

    Aaron –

There’s a specific way to do this.  I am not sure what the dimensions are on the Scott, but if he’ll mike it out, I bet he can get a ferrule from TFO for downright cheap and repair it.  The way to do it is with a tubular graphite ferrule which slides just inside the pole, and JB Weld as the bonding agent.  TFO’s poles come in four sections to begin with so my pole has three such joints in it – they are strong.

Yes you do need to cut the jagged stuff away.

They like an extrrrremely slow retrieve right on the bottom in my experience.

    Hey Guys –

I’m going to give this a couple more days then I am going to be emailing each of you to confirm your orders. Looks like we’ll have more than sixty hats. For those of you in Oz, NZ or South Africa, I’ll be in touch about maybe arranging a single destination. That’ll be a lot more cost efficient I expect.

Dang it guys, bad news.  I just heard from Simms that they are OUT of trucker gray.  I’ve removed the three of you who voted for trucker gray and also written you a PM.

Thanks everyone.  I’ll get my design sent over to Simms so we can start the process.  I think what I will do is get some color samples back from them and then post in poll form here so everyone can “vote” on the color they want.  I should be able to order at least 3-4 different colors, and they come in batches of 8.  The poll will let me count heads and I’ll get those in.  You can then PM me your info and either paypal me the payment or send me a check in the mail.

For overseas guys, I love the fact that y’all want in.  I’ll work out the base price of the hat and then just charge you actual costs of shipping.  My goal is to turn a $0 profit on these hats.

These are the 2011 six panels, but I think they are going to be changing:

    Here are the truckers:

There’s a really wide variety of colors available on the net and I am not sure yet which they offer currently, but I’ll get it figured out and post back.

Spey is a bit of a different animal rods-wise from the normal market.

This is an excellent learner line for striper fishing:

It would be better if the tip was an INT instead of a fast sinker but there are plenty of places you can make it work and it practically teaches you to Spey cast by itself.
