I’ve heard very good things about the Avid series, and I’ve also heard that St. Croix is great about their warranty.
One of the biggest pros to aquastealth, in my opinion, is that when you’re winter fishing, like Jim said, snow doesn’t build up on them like it does on felt.
Nymph – flashback hare’s ear, size 12-18 depending on conditions
Dry – stimulator, usually size 12 or 14
Other – streamer, preferably something large, flashy, and articulated.Jay,
Rocky Mountain national park would offer you some great small stream and alpine lake fishing, especially if you’re willing to hike for it.

It’s interesting that you noticed this because I’ve had a similar issue with the Lamson Konic reel.
You’re not allowed to carry in a National Park…not sure about state parks or other designated areas.
I do well on an egg pattern all winter long (dubbed or egg yarn with a bead center drifts and rolls better than McFly foam).
