1. Their ability to take the abuse of saltwater without being cleaned and maintained is the difference – someone may have a more technical answer.

2. Two-stroke vs. Four-stroke (this will answer the next one) – Two-stroke is a mixture engine while four-stroke in not. In a four-stroke you have engine oil, but no premix.

6. Depends on how fast you want to run and weight you will be carrying. 80-100 hp “should be” suffucient under larger water conditions.

I have really enjoyed my Orvis Wonderline, I have a first gen on my 3 weight and it is has a memory problem. Good part for me, I generally don’t have out much line so that is not a problem.

I have had good luck with my Cortland 555. I do find that I have to clean it more but that could just be because it gets fished more

This is something that I love to do. Blending these sports/hobbies is incredible. You can have so much fun and see so much more of the country. I plan on exploring more of GSMNP this summer and hiking some of the Virginia Creeper Trail and enjoying some of the waters along the way.

Zach, as a newb to the board but not to fly fishing, I find your approach extremely refreshing. I post on several other boards of various kinds and to foster an open stance yet controlled is very nice.

I love NPR & PBS as well. Through DirecTV here in Nashville we get a couple of PBS stations and I watched a great fly tying show just the other night.

Something great I found was Soundstage (similar to Austin City Limits – except in Chicago) and they are running a 3-4 week special of Peter Frampton concert. Nice to step back in time, so to speak.

Slapout Mike, how do the Korkers run size-wise? I know with my Orvis Henry’s Fork boots that I need to buy almost a half size larger just by the way they run with my stockingfoot waders.

As well, how long have you had them and are they wearing well?
