Mike, those are very special flies indeed! They are predominantly wet flies, which is a bit out of my knowledge comfort zone. Honestly, I would contact Davy Wotton personally and see if he can help you out if you don’t get a solid answer here. He would be the foremost authority on this genre of flies imho.

JT – not to dodge your original specific question . . . but a lot of guys (guides particularly) are loving the GoPro HERO HD video camera system. It is an HD camera that straps on your head so your composition is whatever your eyes are looking at. It allows you have both hands free to fish and still capture the scenery and the fish strike, fight, and landing. It comes with a waterproof housing! If I was in the market I would get a HERO hands down over a Flip. It is a steal at less than $250. Good luck finding one – they are always on backorder.
I love the first few photos because they have the classic triad of foreground, midground, background.
You did a good job on the creamy water shots – it can be difficult to get long exposures without a filter – your highlights are well preserved as seen on my monitor.

Hey Keith, looking at the specs for your camera it appears to have great macro capability! Shoot us a picture of one of your flies and let’s see that camera shine 😉
Also, I fully agree with John. You can learn photography with any camera. The PnS’s are often the best tool because they are easy to carry and will actually be there when you want to take a picture. Lately, I have done more with my iPhone camera than I ever imagined. Even that little spec takes good pictures because it always at my side. Great way to waste time in the airport as well, ha.
I use the iPhone as a way to constantly “practice” photography skills like composition. Consider using your new camera in a similar fashion. Practice makes perfect (or at least teaches me to use profanity in new and creative ways, LOL).
I am about 90% confident that Daiichi makes hooks for Orvis. A while back I made a hook comparison chart which is attached below. PM me if you want an original copy. I use Orvis hooks plenty for fresh water flies (not that their saltwater line is inferior per se, I am just superstitious about my preferred saltwater hook brands).
