New Camera Help

I Just learned this morning that Best Buy is going to let me replace my Sony H50 Advanced Point and Shoot, so I am in the market for a new camera.

The Nikon D3000 is rumored to be a horrible DSLR.

Well we went to Best Buy, and ened up putting our hands on several DSLRs and the wife liked a couple of them, purely not for the photographic abilities 😉

Keith pesonally I think people get caught up in “DSLRS” and make the leap unneccessarily some times. In fact its not uncommon for Pros to own and use atleast one PnS.

Hey Keith, looking at the specs for your camera it appears to have great macro capability!  Shoot us a picture of one of your flies and let’s see that camera shine 😉

Also, I fully agree with John.  You can learn photography with any camera.  The PnS’s are often the best tool because they are easy to carry and will actually be there when you want to take a picture.  Lately, I have done more with my iPhone camera than I ever imagined.  Even that little spec takes good pictures because it always at my side.  Great way to waste time in the airport as well, ha.

I use the iPhone as a way to constantly “practice” photography skills like composition.  Consider using your new camera in a similar fashion.  Practice makes perfect (or at least teaches me to use profanity in new and creative ways, LOL).
