The first link is an investigative piece PC World did on these camera stores. The second is photos of the locations of a good many of the internet camera/electronics dealers. You’ll see that, while some of them have legit storefronts, the vast majority are mail drops, private homes, or non-descript doorways and warehouses. You’ll also notice that many are doing business under several different names, making it more difficult for authorities to put them completely out of business.

Especially with camera equipment, it’s a good idea to check online retailers at http://www.resellerratings.com. There are a lot of really shady operators in this particular segment, so buyer beware.
