I made my copic can reusable so I didn’t have to buy more cans or a compressor.

MemberNicely done! It’s interesting to think about a place devoted to tying flies. I try to do that to my house all the time, but kids and crafts take over most of the time. Currently, I have a 6 foot wall, a desk, and about 1 hour a week devoted to tying flies. I gotta figure out how to get the kids to tie faster….and give Thailand a run for their money!

MemberNicely done Zach! Now make a back pack like setup to hook it up to your back so you can go hands free and just tow it while you walk!

Memberyeah….189 isn’t bad….but I’ve caught 2….my whole life!
So, as I’m scrolling down looking at the photos, the second to last comes on the screen and I’m loving how there is a traffic light pole in view….but, once that last photo showed up…..THAT WAS AWESOME! Thanks for sharing!

MemberCarolina Fly posted some flies to match these at FTF.

MemberZach – The first picture in this post (Can, spray head, 4 markers) cost me $50. Of course, after rigging it up to run from the bike pump, I don’t foresee any new cost unless I want new colors.
Abe – I have plans to try this on a crease fly, I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I believe the last, and third to last photos that Curtis posted have foam heads and therefore show that foam should work out just fine.

MemberYou all suck. I bought mine today.
sorry Abe…..not!
Mike Simmons
MemberCurtis, it’s your fault I bought one. After seeing your flies and video I just couldn’t resist anymore.

MemberRonnie, you are correct. With the Copic I can switch colors quicker than it takes me to write this sentence. Plus, no clean up. (of course, I have no experience with any other airbrush)
I can literally pull this out, spray one popper, and put it away in a few minutes. I painted all these at the dining room table with a piece of newspaper to catch the over spray.
Also, for me, having a cheap way to do it was key. That’s why I started with just a few markers and a can….then jacked up the can to make it reusable without paying for another can or compressor.

MemberThe pictures aren’t crappy enough to discredit a HUGE fish! Nice work!

MemberThanks for sharing. When that weather was here I was dying to get out to those waters, but things got in the way, so it’s nice to see what I missed….sort of!

MemberI’m 1/2 surprised that when the duck was raised up over Joe’s head, that they didn’t take another shot at it!!!
Mike Simmons
