As far as TVL green boats are concerned, my son and I floated the Ora to Chester stretch (during the open season 8-)) and ran into a section just out of the upper cliffs where there were four guide boats stretched across the top of a good riffle run and we barely were able to squeak by one of the parked boats in a relatively open lane that was about 30-feet wide and the guide in the TVL green boat cussed us as we passed for messing up his fishing – it was the only water available to float downriver! It appears you’ve stirred a hornet’s nest and they deserve every bit of it and then some. I hope they get their summer season of dudes cancelled due to this fervor and your vigilance. Oh crap, there I go again – danged soapbox, shouldn’t have been left out in my way anyhooo…

You know, it’s probably a good thing, since I seemed to have stuck myself in the middle of it anyway 😉
Anyway, here goes…
On another forum site (I know those here don’t think there are any other forums out there ::) ), there was a post by a local guy in southeast Idaho (Lando, I wonder who that might be… 8-))who took some incriminating pics of a Teton Valley Lodge (located in Driggs, Idaho) boat, guide and two dudes as they were fishing the closed section of the lower Henry’s Fork near the Ora Bridge launch, just the day before yesterday!. This section opens the Saturday before Memorial Day to protect vital Rainbow spawning habitat. Anyway, here are the pics:

“…just a mistake” I figure I pay an outfitter to know what’s going on in his own backyard. Where did these guys come from and how do they maintain a license? As far as “taking out immediately” to get where they were photographed, they had been in the water for a while, as well as having everything rigged up and clients fishing.
Just sayin…
Anyway, the owner of the lodge came on to defend the actions, but it truly ballooned out of control and not in his favor. I appreciate that we all make mistakes, but for a licensed guide and outfitter to either not know or blatantly disregard current regs and take paying clients to poach closed waters (in his own backyard) is downright criminal. From what I’ve heard, it sounds as though the law has been notified and heads are rolling.
I’m not trying to stir things up, but I think it’s important for the paying public and all sportsmen to know when something like this has taken place. These guys know better and it appears they didn’t care. This time they got caught. They have a poor reputation for disregarding regs and have been caught fishing other closed waters before. They give a bad name to the good guy outfitters and guides who keep it above board.
Anyway, there you have it.

Bamboo is only good for staking tomatoes………….and our eyes are pretty good at recognizing cutt-bows. I certainly hope that Mr. Glissmeyer will turn in a few fish this year and get one of those big rewards!
Zac, while we may be observant, you caught some truly HAWG fish.
The pale color on this Westslope Cuttie, indicates it has been in the reservoir, and a recent arrival to the stream.
Or it indicates that it is a cutt-bow.
(look at the white tips on the pelvic and anal fins)

Thanks, guys for the responses. I tried some out and this is what I came up with and the fish seemed to like it:
It’s a combo of stuff I’ve seen and the one’s you all directed me to, including using some pearl mylar in the construction.
