Looks like a great trip. Made the trip to the Pm and man but water was low and clear, no rain on our trip. We did pretty well considering the conditions. Rain is a nice thing when ripping streamers, love it!!!

No worries there, I hit the local carwash on the way back from the river every trip

Please, Please, make sure you inspect and clean your boat thoroughly after fishing each of these rivers.  Fishing this many rivers, I would hit up the local car wash and power wash your boat after fishing.  Montana has hired people this year to inspect boats and pass out information about invasive species.  Be responsible, and have fun.

From all I have talked to the bighorn is a must and 2 days minimum, fishing back east if there were any rivers would have been more convenient than anything, but if I am that far west, what’s a little further at that point.

Thanks to all who have replied, the information is exactly what I was looking for. The trip duration is not set yet and the planning is just starting.

Pretty interesting, looking forward to seeing a picture.

Shoal bass are an endemic species to the southern drainages that flow directly to the Gulf (i.e. not to the Mississippi or to the Atlantic).  That pretty much limits them to Georgia and Alabama and the Florida panhandle.  They weren’t even recognized as their own unique species until 1999 – up until then, they were termed “redeye bass” and thought to be just larger specimens of some non-descript panfish (I have heard the term “redeye” applied to a fish we called “warmouth” in Arkansas).

But shoal bass are decidedly worth catching on the fly.  They get up to 8 lbs. in their sweet spot in the lower Flint drainage, and they reach very entertaining sizes in the Hooch right through Atlanta.  I had an 11″er bend a 7 weight TFO TiCr (a very stiff rod) right over when I went fishing under the I-75 bridges last Sunday.

As soon as I catch a fish big enough to bother photographing, I’ll put a picture up.  They basically look like smallmouth with red eyes.

Fluery needs to play a good game tonight if we want to get a win and send it to game 7.

There were a few posts in OT, Rhutu hit one also.  Malone was the one that got hit in the face, he is a tough SOB for sure.  I just played Ice Hockey for the first time in a while on Friday, I got a wrist shot off of the arm and it still is swollen.

You really have to appreciate the games the Wings and Pens have played since the first 2, just great hockey and very entertaining.

If any team can win 2 more, it is the Pens.  Fleury is a stud in net!!!

Where has Datsuyk and Zetter been this series, they finally did something last night?  Just imagine if Samuelson could hit the net, he had allot of chances

    LETS GO PENS!!!!!

We have all been there, trip planning, high expectations and then the weather wreaks havoc on the trip.  I know anytime I get to use my Toon, it is a good trip anyway.  The pictures of the UD are beautiful and what a way to spend a day though.  I know catching fish is why we all flyfish, but for me anymore the trip is not defined by how many fish you catch.  Anytime out is good.
