MemberI love seeing inside other guys fly boxes, so I hope this thread picks up steam. When I get a chance I’ll take a pic of my boxes, but for now….
1. I like the C&F little boxes, but not for catskill dries. Hackled flies fall into my compartment boxes.
2. I carry my bugger barn, midge box, C&F box with few nymphs and random dries, then my two compartment boxes with caddis, stimmies, and catskill ties. If its summer, I bring the hopper box as well.
3.Answered that above for the most part. However I would like to switch my caddis and stimmies into one of those SA waterproof boxes.
4. I like to wieght with a bead or conehead, I hate pinch on weight, hard to cast and always seems to slide up and down my leader.
5. I have OCD, so I like to make rows of perfectly organized flies, its really a PITA.
6. Nothing bigger than a 12 unless its a fat streamer
7. Not yet.Anyone have anything to say about the SA waterproof boxes? Will they fit Stimulators?
thanks

MemberI’ve got the 8’8 5wt and have an SA Trout line on it, I think its perfect. I love the small loop on the end of the line, and its extremely slick.
I’ve got a ross rythym reel on my rod and don’t have any complaints about balance.dblock16

New Scott G2 5wt with Ross Rythym reel, this will be my primary trout rod. Absolutly the nicest combo I have ever fished.

MemberThanks for the info guys. This will definetly be camping only trip. So I guess I will need to rent most of my gear when I get out there? What size rod would you guys recomend?
I thnk I would definetly rather do some fishing where I have to hike to smaller waters. My main objective is to catch some cutthroat trout while Im there.

The Young reel is a 3.5″. The original seller told me that the reel was all original. The reel looks as if it was never used. The color is a darker gray. I can send pics via email. If you would like to see pics please feel free to email me at

I baught the rod last year around Christmas time, casted the rod that day and fished it once or twice since then. The rod has a superfine cigar type cork grip and cork reel seat with two rings.
I unfortunetly cannot provide pics, dont know how. But assure you the condition of the rod is excellent.
as I said it is must sell and would accept $125 plus shipping for the rod.
Thanks
