MemberSo funny to see all the posts on this, no need to get up in arms about an article.
A comment was made about being an educated consumer and that’s all this boils down to. Comparisons can be made against cars too. Chevy ZR1 is faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo but I would still take one hands down over the Chevy, even with the price tag difference. Different craftsmanship, heritage, etc… I for one got a BIIIx last year, 5WT, and love it! But I also love my 3WT TFO rod, both very different rods.
It is a fun article to read and at the end of the day to each his own as long as we are out there wetting lines 😉

MemberI just pulled the trigger on my bag last week. I went with the Patagonia Stormfront pack (http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/patagonia-stormfront-pack-backpack?p=49152-0-950).
Yes, it was not the least expensive bag on the market but it depends on what you are looking for. The Simms bag is water resistant to a high extent but not submersible. The Pat bag that I got is completely submersible and made with a giant dry suit zipper. Another plus, is that it comes with a soft sided insert for camera, reels, or other impact sensitive gear. The bag is real simple, bomb proof, and will not stick out. The guy that I bought it from zipped up the bag and gave it a bear hug…no air escapes at all. Another plus…if I slip, I have a flotation device to hang onto LOL.
This thing is highly recommended.
