I just use a kayak paddle in the canoe. Works great standing up and is awesome for sitting down and covering some water. I usually have my children with me and they get to fish while I row from the middle.

I am in the same boat as Curtis, no pun intended. I have always owned a truck with a bed but am looking at the possibility of a SUV. I have always considered a truck being built for towing, but I am liking the roominess inside a SUV. My boat and trailer weigh less than 1,000 lbs and I must have a 4 door. Toyo’s seem to really be popular on this thread and I would like to have decent fuel mileage. I am shopping for a 4runner/pathfinder. Hard to find one vehicle to do it all.

    Hey Dub,

I hear you guys had a great trip. I generally use any 9′ 5x leader to the point fly. After that, I drop a smaller fly off the hook bend with Frogs Hair fluoro, usually in 6x.

I am a firm believer in the Frogs Hair for fishing the places you were at this weekend. i have fewer lost fish and fewer lost flies as well.

I am also fond of those fast action Sage rods. It took some getting used to and I had to adjust my hookset. I love the way they will cast a double nymph rig with some shot and an indicator 😎
