Cameron MortensonMemberSteve…is that real rattlesnake skin on the handles of those rods?
Cameron MortensonMemberGreat photograph Splitshot.
Cameron MortensonMemberHey Steve…can you post a photograph of the rods?
Cameron MortensonMemberWhat is your thoughts on Frog Hair tippet material and leaders?
Cameron MortensonMemberBob…did you get my PM?
Cameron MortensonMemberI was thinking that a classic needed to be one the list…the Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway…namely the Nick Adams Stories.
Cameron MortensonMemberI am about 2/3 though Pale Morning Done and it has been a pretty solid read.
Cameron MortensonMemberBig Fat Carp…I know I haven’t been hitting the treadmill in a while…
I will be just a day or so late on the flies…I’ve been slammed at work for the past three weeks…
Cameron MortensonMemberI picked up a Scott V2 nine foot six weight this spring to use for largemouth bass, and then also for streamer/big trout water.
Cameron MortensonMemberI know that I am coming to this thread a little late but I am also a big fan of hand tied leaders.
Cameron MortensonMemberWhat fly did she take? If you were fly fishing for stripers then it must have been quite a meal.
Sounds like you need a boat mate for netting.
Cameron MortensonMemberNo PoudreRiver…you can not have the Winston LT…it still has a place in the fly rod arsenal.
There is a Shakespere factory in Columbia which leads me to think that there might be a few of their fly rods in local pawn shops, garage sales, and flea markets. I am going to start looking around with more interest.
I’ve been really surprised how many “never been fished” vintage fiberglass fly rods there are out there. Really quite amazing to think of a fly rod being 50 plus years old and never been on taken on the water.
I am not to handy as of yet with rod repairs so I’ll be looking for ones that are in pretty stellar shape already.
Cameron MortensonMemberThank you for the kind comments on the photographs.
Cameron MortensonMemberAh PR…lets not rewrite history…
Cameron MortensonMemberI was listening to a podcast lately that talked of fly patterns catch more anglers than trout and the Goodard Caddis was mentioned…as when was the last time you saw a caddis in the air with two short strands of hard mono coming out the front of it’s head…
Cameron MortensonMemberYes, PoudreRiver…memories of good times on the water…
Ol’ “Winston”…the $100 Ford Escort…there is something to be said for a cheap somewhat reliable vehicle that gave me 50,000 plus miles for a total investment of maybe $1000 in oil changes and car parts over the course of several years…
Hadley started walking last week while at the lake…I thought fly casting would be the next logical step…ha…
Cameron MortensonMemberDoes everything you listed fit in the backpack? If so, I’d be impressed to take the pack. I can’t imagine lugging the Pelican case along on the extended hikes would be comfortable at all.
Is there room to take both? The Pelican case would be nice to have while in the raft portion of your trip.
Didn’t you buy this pack specifically for this trip?
Cameron MortensonMemberWell…I had to go back nine pages to bring this thread back…

Without access to the premium smokes I enjoyed seveal “throw down” cigars on the river last week to keep the biters away.
Cameron MortensonMemberWell said…I find it interesting the backlash of angry readers of certain magazines when they try to sex up an issue with lightly dressed ladies on the cover or in an article or two.
During the dating years I can’t remember a time where I was somehow more desireable to the ladies because I fly fish…though some advertisments would have you thinking otherwise.
Cameron MortensonMemberHey…thanks for the reply.
