MemberGreat responses and suggestion from all!
Here is my set-up:
I spend the majority of time in the Rocky’s, sleep in a bag all year. Yes, dead of winter too, for snowboarding and some fishing.
Marmot bags here. Have a few from Helium EQ 15 to the Col EQ -20. All mine have a waterproof/breathable shell, better safe than sorry with down.
Big Agnes pad – 2 1/2 inches off the ground, you can sleep on rocks and never feel them. Its at least a 1000 times lighter, more comfy and warmer than a thermarest. (thermarest are junk IMHO) I haven’t looked into pads for a few years now, but there are other brands out there that are similar to the Big Agnes, might want to look at those too. Also you can get an insulated and a non-insulated. I use both. I’d also suggest get the widest size they come – nothing is worse than trying to sleep with your arms on the ground 2 1/2 inches lower than your body ; )
under-layers add 5-10 degrees, liner boost that anther 10, same with socks and a beanie.
IMHO – I would not buy a 3/4 zip! …not comfy
I’m curious what you go with, please post when you pull that trigger.

MemberNice flies. I like the top one.
reminds me of what our local pattern was last year on the central pa cicada emergence.
This is what we used:
easy tie.Kalvin, save yours up. only 16 more to go. sigh.
The top one was a producer.
Cool pattern… bring that out this way in the spring for the Cicadas. I’m certain it will hunt out here as well.

MemberI’ve been messing around with a few of Kelly Gallup and Bob Lensenman leader theory’s.
">http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Streamers-Trophy-Trout-Techniques/dp/088150466118″ 20lb buttt
24″ 8-12lb tippetor
24″ butt
10″ 15lb tippet / 14″10lb
.. either maxima chameleon & ultra green or SeaGuar. Sometimes I use a 5′ piece of just 15lb.I sometimes use a jam knot combined with a uni… or a few hitches for that matter for larger leaders. Some type of loop knot is standard as well. There are a few, I’m not certain the actual name of the specific loop knot I use.

MemberI don’t know about no holder, but I’ll never have to buy the powder again after buying a quart from this outfit for about $6. Lifetime supply. Hydrophobic fumed silica epoxy kids, that’s the ticket. I highly recommend the same for everyone:
Ditto on the recommendation…love it!

MemberHe he he he… yep Will, its all about the shutter speed ; ) That guy has mad skills…. oozing with style. Cool post.

MemberCool report Zach, thanks for posting
Oh and in case you’re wondering what I’m doing; I’m actually flopping my right hand around because it felt like it was going to cramp.
In the snow world we call that style – Weak sauce booter under 25′ hand-down, booter over 25′ hand-up.. if you bombing a 100′ cheese wedge, whatever you like : )

Petzl or Princten Tech ….I’m eyeballing a SureFire at the moment.

">http://www.surefire.com/headlampsRight now I’m loving the Petzl “TACKIKKA XP ADAPT”. This specific model in the series provided me what I was personally looking for. (note: I remove the ‘overhead’ strap)
Side note: This entire ‘TACIKKA series’ is specifically designed for different mounts… headlamp, clip it onto your visor, shirt pocket, pack strap, etc. The ‘XP’ just offers more power…. and the brightness of the red lens is perfect ; )
Let us know what you go with.

MemberGreat ties!
Love the “head-stand” (last fly)…. Have you tried it in chartreuse? works wonders in the land of Zion.

MemberHere is a US dealer ; )
Search ‘BOZO’.. and that should do it.

MemberIt great for pushing water!!
This is the only place I know where to find it –> http://www.antunez.com/epages/ea3294.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectID=6087811 ….I know its overseas but that’s all I got ; )
I know a few guys who purchase high-end clown wigs, if you have a local costume shop they might have something similar….. I don’t know e if its the same stuff or not but it might be worth a try.
